Happy thoughts
I'm going to put one of these up on the outside of the shop window.
Seems to be the kind of reassurance we all need right now, no?

Happy St Patrick's day!
So strange to think that it's been two years since I walked along the real Holland Road, heading to the airport and St Patrick's day celebrations in Dublin. Wonderful city, great times, and LOTS of green.
To celebrate there is 10% off all GREEN yarn in the shop today! Hooray!
1/4 acre dream Knitsch Sock - only $11.65!
Woolganics Godwana - only $10.80!
Oh and if you can't make it into the real shop, the online store has 10% off green until 10am tomorrow, 18 March, NZ time. Hooray!
The competition - keep em coming!
So I just realised that I hadn't set a deadline for linky love, twitter noise and facebook sharing for the competition - silly me!
Seeing as it's almost a month since opening day, let's make the last day for entries as 23 March at 5pm, and i'll announce winners shortly after.
Hooray!
Yarn Love: Fyberspates
Direct from Jeni in the UK, I almost cried when I opened the parcel of Fyberspates Scrumptious 4 ply/sport. The gentle sheen of silk combined with the most luscious colours results in a dream yarn.
Scrumptious is a commerically dyed yarn sourced from Peru (that place of yarn wonderment). It's notoriously hard to get sport weight yarn in NZ and so here is the best opportunity to experiment!
It is 55% superwash merino, 45% silk, with a massive 365m to 100g.
Fyberspates has been flying off the shelves - and with beauty like this, it's not terribly surprising!
un-white walls
Sitting on the couch knitting has been a great way to reassess the layout of the shop. In the past few days i've looked up, spotted something to change, and leapt to do it straight away.
One thing i'm very glad of is that the walls aren't white. Seeing as the landlord painted the interior for me, the paint had to be Taubmans. Not knowing their colours, out came the Your Home and Garden mags for a bit of a browse and some inspiration. One issue had a great lounge with similar style furniture featured - and what a stroke luck that the colour of the walls was Taubmans 'Kid Leather'. A lovely beige-y neutral with enough warmth to make the shop feel like home, but allowing the colours of the yarn to shine.
Delicious, no?
