The real deal

Somehow photos of the shop haven't made it on here! So, for those of you that haven't made it yet, here are some snaps from the phone...

It's also looking to be quite busy on Saturday afternoon for the Crafternoon Tea with Granny G - i'd recommend bringing a chair and being prepared for a warm shop!

Also, the eftpos isn't arriving until Monday - grrr - but there is the atm next door, which is handy dandy. Yay!

Never Not Knitting

Now that the yarn is on the shelves, my attention has moved to patterns. The first that i've jumped at getting is those from Alana of the Never Not Knitting podcast.

They are presented so beautifully, and the patterns themselves are simply gorgeous. Hopefully I'll have them instore by the 3rd of March.

Are there any great pattern designers out there whose patterns I should stock? Let me know!

Christchurch - how else to help

Besides donating 20% of all Knitsch Sock to Christchurch earthquake relief, here are some other ideas - what is needed, primarily, is money.

Donate at Oxfam NZ - Red Cross NZ is overloaded so Oxfam is channelling donations through their website

Donate blood (if you are in NZ) - sadly I can't do this thanks to living in the UK for a year in the mad cow black out period. Severely frustrating!

Donate to accounts set up by the banks:
ASB - 12-3205-0146808-00
ANZ - 01-1839-0188939-00
National Bank - 06-0869-0548507-00
Westpac - 03-0207-0617331-00

Vodafone users can donate to the Red Alert Canterbury Earthquake Appeal by texting Quake to 333 to make a $3 donation, or by texting Quake to 555 to make a $5 donation. A universal donation text number is currently being set up.

Donate via the Salvation Army website

Trademe has also set up an excellent resource for contacts, connecting people with services and supplies.

Again, my heart goes out completely and fully to the people of Christchurch, and anyone who knows someone that is missing. xxx
