Being grateful
Ugh, how very Oprah of me to have a being grateful post!
There are some people that have been helpful in the extreme over the past year and a bit - my family, the boy - especially the boy, my ever patient friends, people that started off as strangers and have become real friends and allies. Thanks to you all - this wouldn't be happening without you.
PS - when the shop opens, make sure you 'oooh' and 'aaah' over my big white table. The boy made it. And some other bits and pieces. But the table is the best. Perfect for winding yarn, cups of tea, books, meetings, stitching, crafting, gossiping, chatting,....
Sweet bejeebus - it's Malabrigo!
I literally just arrived home to the most wonderful package a knitter could ever wish for - a parcel full of Malabrigo!
*swoon*
If you are after a fondle of this sweet, sweet yarn, you better be quick - I have super limited supplies to start. We'll have Rios and sock - the best two, if you ask me. OM nom nom nom....divinity in yarn, I swear.
Are you lonely, tonight?
Pottering around, feeling not terribly inspired this morning, I hit upon one of the reasons why, for sanity's sake, the shop has to be opened.
Working solo about 90% of the week is hard. Having lots and lots of interwebby social interaction is wonderful, but it doesn't quite replace real life conversations and interactions. It's much easier to get excited when there is someone with you giggling with glee. I'm also awful at organising to catch up with people, as there is always work that needs to be done, and being flexible during the day when most are at their full time job makes it a bit tricky.
So, if anything else, you need to come along to the shop so I don't go all crazy la-la. Unless it's with excitement over yarn. That's the fun part!
More sweet as pie kiwi music
Can you tell i've been hunting out shop music? If the comments link was working i'd ask for your music suggestions - but it's not. Dumb.
Anyway, Brooke Fraser used to be besties with one of my besties, went to school down the road and played a concert at my school when she was in finals for Rock Quest. That's as far as I can claim any fame for that one! I didn't wholly love her first album (although arithmetic gets me every time) - her second, oh boy. Betty has the most wondeful, whimsical video I can't help but fall in love with it!
Cascade!
With a wee bit of trepidation I got in touch with Cascade in regards to ordering their super popular Cascade 220 100% wool worsted weight yarn.
And would you believe, they got back to me!
The trouble is now I have to pick and choose which colours to order, and I need a bit of help, asap.
I haven't yet fixed the comments issue, so best way to let me know what you would like it to pop over to the Knitsch Yarns group on Ravelry, or flick me an email. Oh, the choices!
